No, and this is the important caveat. The page is rendered to pixels first and then traced into new vector shapes, so any original vector text or line art in the PDF is recreated by tracing rather than preserved. Text becomes shapes, not editable characters.

Yes, in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma or Affinity Designer — but you are editing traced shapes, not the document’s original objects. Individual glyphs are outlines, so you can reshape or recolour them but not retype them.

When a page needs to become scalable artwork — a logo lifted from a brochure, a diagram destined for a large print, or a graphic that must stay sharp at any size. For faithful document reproduction, use PNG or TIFF instead.

Tracing a rendered page can generate thousands of vector paths, and text-heavy pages are the worst case because every glyph becomes its own outline. Pages with large flat areas trace far more efficiently than dense body text.
